Headed off for our first live encounter with OK Go on Saturday.
Yes, that’s right, these guys:

But don’t fall into the trap of thinking that they only do treadmills and quirky videos. They also do pretty blooming brilliant live performances. With lasers. (They may be dinky little in-guitar-headstock lasers, but that’s all part of their charm. And they’re still lasers.) And audience sing-a-longs. And Handbells. (Yes, really.)

Sign of a good gig? Two days later I’m still singing a couple of their new songs. I’m out of tune (as usual), but hey, I’m enjoying myself.
There’s nothing at all wrong with a little quirky! It made me smile, so if they can have the same effect live then … yep, that’s a winner 🙂
I’d never heard of them myself. I get this strange feeling that I’m going to hear a lot more of them in the future.

Hey I remember that treadmills video!!
Love the way the grassy hummocks leap up … and even though you know they’re there when they go back down, it still just looks like rough grass – cool.
