Interesting question. The answer seemed obvious at first, but it has led to some mildly silly debate between Mr TLC and myself.

Yes and no.
Yes, that’s the answer we came up with.
If it’s born with 4 legs and ‘lost’ one, yes, but if it’s born with 3, then no. Although if it’s a recessive gene causing it to have 3 from birth and its offspring then go on to have 4 legs, I don’t know.
