His Mother: Yes we are.
Small boy: Where is it?
His Mother: We’ll have to find out.
Small boy: What does it look like? I don’t know what love looks like*. Are we really looking for love?
His Mother: Yes we’re really looking for love.
Much later, […]

Small girl: What is it?
Mother: It’s called 216.5 degrees.
Small girl: What does that mean?
Mother: Well, a circle has 360 degrees, but this isn’t a whole circle. It’s just part of it.

Posted by: Lois Lindemann on: September 10th, 2008 Posted in: Uncategorized Tags for this post: Art | Derbyshire | Wirksworth Festival 2008. - (Comments are closed) I really like it when I get a physical reaction to a piece of art. Firstly I stumbled upon Sal Brown’s Excellent Adventures blog. This led to the second discovery. A very surprising discovery, because not only did I know nothing about this (and I do read the local paper, watch the local news and pick up local news feeds), but neither did my Mother, […]
Posted by: Lois Lindemann on: January 28th, 2008 Posted in: Uncategorized Tags for this post: Derbyshire. Comments are closed We took a little stroll around Ladybower Reservoir yesterday. I’ve lived near here for years, but it was the first time I’d ever seen the famous “plug holes” in action.
The “plug holes” are the entrances to two very large drainage shafts that act as overflows from the reservoir. When the reservoir is full, the […]
